How do I use a normal mode command from insert mode without leaving

the insert mode? You can use a normal command from insert mode, without leaving the insert mode, by first pressing the CTRL-O key and then follow that with a single normal mode command. To execute more than one normal mode command, press the CTRL-L key, followed by any number of normal mode commands and then press <Esc> to get back to the insert mode. (This only works, when the ‘insertmode’ option is set).
