About

Hi there. My name is Umer Mansoor and I'm a Software Engineer. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Coding is my passion, my hobby and what I absolutely love. I have 8 years of software development experience and managing engineering teams. My tech background is diverse and I have worked with very small early stage startups to public companies; from telecommunications to mobile apps to mobile gaming to internet companies. The product that I'm most proud of was the very first commerical product I built from scratch with two other developers out of university. It has been in use for 7 continous years at one of the biggest mobile operators in the world and is used by millions of people everyday. I'm on Twitter and you can connect with me there.

I started this Blog as 'notes to myself'. I learn things better when I force myself to write them down in a way someone else could understand. Since then this blog has appeared on LifeHacker, front page of Hacker News(several times), quoted by Books and University Lecturers. I write about a variety of topics including programming, management, Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and new technologies.
