Hi there. My name is Umer Mansoor and I'm a Software Engineer. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Coding is my passion, my hobby and what I absolutely love.
I have 8 years of software development experience and managing engineering teams.
My tech background is diverse and I have worked with very small early stage startups to public companies; from telecommunications to mobile apps to mobile gaming to internet companies.
The product that I'm most proud of was the very first commerical product I built from scratch with two other developers out of university.
It has been in use for 7 continous years at one of the biggest mobile operators in the world and is used by millions of people everyday.
I'm on Twitter
and you can connect with me there.
I started this Blog in 2016 mainly as 'notes to myself'. I learn things better when I force myself to write them down in a way someone else could understand.
Since then this blog has appeared on LifeHacker, front page of Hacker News(several times), quoted by Books and University Lecturers.
I write about a variety of topics including programming, management, Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and new technologies.
The views and opinions expressed on this blog are solely my own. They do not express the views or opinions of my employer. In fact, I'm just sharing my experiences and I could very well be wrong. I encourage my readers to think critically before following any advice given on this blog.
